The County Government of KISUMU is set to tax 35,000 Boda Boda Operators within the entire County beginning tomorrow. Kisumu County Executive Committee  Member in charge of Finance Nerry Achar says the move aims at generating revenue to the county Government. Addressing the press in Kisumu today,Achar said the county Government will on a daily basis charge shs 20 each Boda Boda Operator within the county. He says those who are not registered with a Sacco or a Community Based Organization will be dealt with individually but those who are registered  will be dealt with through their various Sacco. Senator Outa Acquitted over charges to incitement.  THE Kisumu   Court has acquitted Kisumu Senator Fred Outa over charges to incitement and destruction at Ahero Girls High School in Nyando Sub-County. Outa was charged in 2016 when he was the MP for Nyando constituency following unrest at the school at the time. He was charged for causing breach of peace in the school and destruction of school property. Senior Principal Magistrate Julius Nga’rnga’r says the evidence presented by the prosecution was not solid to sustain the case in court. Nga’rnga’r says Outa did not breach the peace within the school as that had happened before he had access to the school. By Dickson Odhiambo.   July 27, 2018 Reprieve to Governor Obado as Court upholds his election. MIGORI Governor Zachary Okoth Obado has today gotten a reprieve after the Court of Appeal in Kisumu has upheld his win following the election on August 8 last year. Appellate Court has upheld the decision made earlier by Migori High Court that declared Governor Okoth Obado as validly elected. Justice Stephen Gatembu says the appellant Ochilo Mbogo Ayacko failed to prove his case and was on a fishing expedition. Gatembu says the High Court was factual in its ruling since most of the witnesses’ accounts could not be proved. He says the claims that the Governor bribed voters could not be authenticated. The appeal was set aside and the appellant ordered to bear the cost of the appeal capped at Sh. 2 million.
