  Candidates and teachers of Golden Elites School celebrate good performance in this year's KCPE exams-Photos By Dickson Odhiambo By Dickson Odhiambo December 22, 2022 Schools in Kisumu shine in KCPE exams A NUMBER of primary schools both public and private have shown good performance in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education {KCPE} exams for this year.   At Golden Elites School, there was songs and dance as parents joined teachers and candidates to celebrate their excellent performance in this year’s Class Eight National exams that the new Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released. The school has posted good results as about 25 of its candidates scored 400 marks and above. According to Manager of the school Joan Ochome, its best candidate Keith Nimrod Ochieng scored 429 marks which is only two marks behind the Top candidate in the country who has scored 431 marks. An Organizing Committee headed by the County Secretary, John Auma is supervising preparations of competition venues and institutions that will accommodate delegates from various counties. The games start from January 15, 2023 and will feature 21 sports events that includes Golf, soccer and choirs. “We are ready to host the games. It is a great honour to host 46 Counties here in Kisumu. We have started sprucing up the venues for the games. The Tuk Tuk operators led by their leaders says the move by the   Kisumu Acting City Manager Abala Wanga to issue a notice directing them not to carry passengers but only luggage is not very much in order. Evans Orinde Nyamaya, Secretary General of Kisumu County Tuk Tuk Association says they are currently paying shs 1,200 monthly for the sticker to the County Government of Kisumu to allow their Tuk Tuk to operate hence telling them not to carry passengers within the City is not in order at all.
