KISUMU Governor Jack Ranguma has assured the residents of proper security during the ODM nomination exercise that kicked off this morning. Ranguma says as a stakeholder in the security matters within the county, the security situation is the county is okay for the ODM nomination which is ongoing within the county. Ranguma says the residents should come out in large numbers so as to vote during this ODM party primary. He urged people should vote peacefully and wait for the outcome of the exercise. The Governor who casted his vote at Kobura Primary School within Nyando Constituency said he will carry the day after the residents will have voted him as the ODM party Candidate. Under the banner of the International Project Monitoring and Evaluation Society {IProMES}, the project managers say this will be now their professional body representing their issues. AN Aspiring Member of Parliament in Kisumu Central Constituency has said they all expect a free, fair and transparent Orange Democratic Movement{ODM} Party   nomination process slated for next week in entire Kisumu County. Richard Ogendo who is among the aspirants who will battle for the ODM party ticket in the next week’s nomination exercise says he is optimistic that the Party’s primaries will be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. KISUMU COUNTY Governor Jack Ranguma has urged residents of the county to re-elect him so as to be able to continue with his development plan he initiated when he was elected in 2013. Ranguma says he is very much ready to continue implement development projects he initiated after being elected as Kisumu’s first Governor when devolution was ushered in four years ago. Speaking during a radio talk show at Radio Name Lolwe on Thursday, Ranguma says he came up with a seven pillar development plan which he has implemented part of it successfully. Ranguma says his Government has already embarked on the issue of ensuring that the county is food secure which is one of his major pillar on development. Kisumu County Disaster Management Committee will soon be formed, Kisumu County Commissioner Maalim Mohamed has said. Maalim says this committee is very crucial in coordinating and managing any form of disaster that may arise within the county. Speaking during a forum held at Joventure Hotel in Kisumu on Disaster Management, Maalim said they would liaise with the County Government of Kisumu to ensure this committee is formed. He says the Committee will be co-chaired by the Kisumu County Commissioner and Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma. Maalim says there are a number of stakeholders who are also involved in this. A section of Jubilee Party aspirants in Kisumu County are a crying lot after they claim that they were denied access to the State Lodge in Kisumu during the President’s visit on Tuesday. THE Government plans to promote all teachers who are helping to nurture various talents to pupils and students in their schools, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said. President Uhuru Kenyatta says this is aimed at motivating such teachers who normally take their time in training students on issues of drama, Music and other initiatives such as narratives among others. Speaking at Kisumu State Lodge when he attended this year’s Kenya Schools and Colleges Drama Festivals on Tuesday, President Kenyatta said it is high time to recognize those teachers who have taken their time in training the students on such issues.
