Kisumu leaders welcome the elevation of Kadibo division to a sub-county

 

Leaders in Kisumu County have welcomed the elevation of Kadibo Division to a sub county by the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

 

This now brings to eight in total the number of sub counties in Kisumu county.

 

In a special gazette notice dated 29th October this year, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Dr Fred Matiang’i says the new sub county will have its headquarters in Rabuor Market.

 

Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development Ken Obura has led leaders in applauding the move by the government saying it’s a big sigh of relief for the residents of Kadibo area and Kisumu County at large.

 

CAS Obura says the newly established administrative unit will boost service delivery to wananchi and also enhance coordination of government services.

 

 

Speaking in Kisumu, CAS Obura says the new sub county will bring to an end grievances by local residents who complained of traveling for long distances to access government services in Awasi  which is the headquarter of Nyando sub county.

 

Obura says services like issuance of ID cards, birth certificates among others Government’s services will now be closer to the residents of the area at Rabuor, adding that this means that people will feel the presence of the government near them.

 

Nyando Member of Parliament Jared Okello says this is a good move by the National Government to bring services closer to the people of Kadibo area within Kisumu County.

 

“I promise, I deliver. We pledge we meet. I have delivered on what has eluded our people since Independence. Kadibo is gazetted as a new sub county. This was my campaign promise to the good people of Kabonyo, Kanyagwal and Kobura.God is good,” Nyando Member of Parliament said in one of the social media platforms
