Alumni donate shs 200,000 to needy students of Kisumu School

KISUMU Boys High School Alumni Association has donated shs 200,000 to needy students of the School towards their fees.

President of the Kisumu Boys High school Alumni Association James Aggrey Mwamu says the amount will benefit needy and bright students who have problems in paying school fees.

Addressing the students and staff of the school during presentation of the cheque to the school, Mwamu said the first batch this funding will benefit a total of 20 such students from the School.

Mwamu says some of the needy and bright students comes from the informal settlement within Kisumu City.

Mwamu says the Foundation will still give more funds so as to benefit more needy and bright students to help them in their education.

The Alumni has thanked the Kisumu Boys High School Fraternity led by the Chief Principal Peter Obuogo for ensuring that not unrest took place within the school.

“We want to sincerely thank the Chief Principal of Kisumu School and the entire teaching staff together with students of this school because this is one of the schools within Nyanza region that did not experience unrest that some schools witnessed in term two of last year,” Mwamu says.

The alumni have also asked the Government to avail funding for putting up infrastructure within Secondary schools in preparations for the Competency Based Curriculum transition in Secondary next year.

Kisumu Boys High School Chief Principal Peter Obuogo has lauded the move by the Alumni and urged them to continue with such a wonderful gesture of coming to the rescue of the needy students.
