Joy for a school in Nyando as donor hands over two ultra-modern classes  

 A Public primary school within Nyando Constituency has benefitted from getting ultra-modern building comprising of two new class rooms together with an office for the Head Teacher.

Through the Nyando Community Based Organization {CBO}, Saint Christopher’s Kolunga Primary school within Onjiko/Awasi ward has been able to get the new building constructed by Hope for Child and Center for International Volunteers {CIV}.

Addressing the parents, teachers, pupils and other stakeholders during the official handover of the facility at the school on Tuesday this week, Patron for the Nyando Community Based Organization James Gori said they have constructed the new building to help de-congest the school which has a high population.

Gori has told the school’s Board of Management to make good use of the facilities that have been donated to the school, adding that their sustainability is very vital.

Jese Anjichi, Nyando CBO Manager says they have also been able to construct the Head teacher’s office alongside the two ultra-modern class rooms.

He says the building meets the standard of education requirement, adding will serve its purpose of being a spacious class rooms.

Onjiko/Awasi ward Representative Maurice Otieno Ngeta who has been the Chief Guest during the function has lauded the move by Nyando CBO and other stakeholders for the project.

Ngeta has appealed to the Teachers Service Commission so as to consider employing more teachers in schools within Nyando area especially those with few teachers.

The MCA who donated 30 new kids desks for Early Childhood Development pupils of Kolunga Primary school promised to donate 30 chairs for the school’s ECD as well.

Saint Christopher’s Kolunga Primary School’s Head Teacher Hannington Young Okello has thanked the Nyando CBO, Hope for Child and the Center for International Volunteers {CIV} for the project.

He promise to utilize the facility well, adding that it will help in the de-congestion witnessed due to high population.
