Clergy urges state to speed up investigations into IEBC official’s murder.

THE Clergy in Nyanza region have urged the government to speedily commence investigations so as to unravel the motive behind the mysterious murder of Chris Msando, the acting Information, Communication and Technology Manager with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission {IEBC}.

The clergy say immediate investigations should be launched into the killings of the IEBC official.
In a signed press statement to newsrooms on Tuesday, the clergy led by Chairman of the Nyanza Council of Church Leaders Arch Bishop Dr. Washington Ogonyo Ngede, his vice chairman Bishop Julius Oloo and Secretary Bishop Joan Othatcha say they strongly condemn in the strongest terms possible the brutal killing.

They have also registered their heartfelt condolence to his wife and the entire family during this time of grief.

The clergy say they have learnt the death of IEBC ICT Manager with profound shock as it has happen at a time Kenyans are heading to the General Election slated next Tuesday, adding that they are very much shocked towards what they term as sinful act which seems to have also shocked the entire nation as the country head towards the polls next week.

“Life is very much sacred and no one should lose his/her life in any manner that is not prescribed by the law. God on the other hand does not allow the killing of any person and this is clearly shown among His Ten Commandments,” they say in a signed press statement.

They have appealed to the various organs of the government in charge with doing investigations to speed up proper investigations into what they have termed as heinous act and bring the perpetrators to book.

“We are sending our strong appeal to the Government to ensure speedy investigations is conducted so as to ascertain who has killed Chris Msando, the ICT manager with the IEBC and the reason as to why he has been killed. The suspects in this matter should face the full force of the law,”they add.

They urge the Government to incorporate foreign investigations agencies so as to help in proper unraveling the mysterious death of the IEBC official who went missing last Friday only for his body to be found in Nairobi City Mortuary.

“On the other hand, we are urging the electoral body to purely conduct a free, fair, transparent and credible election that reflects the wishes and aspirations of Kenyans come next Tuesday. This is because Kenyans have banked their hopes on IEBC to do so,” they further say.

The clergy have further said that they are praying for peaceful co-existence before, during and after the polls because elections will always come and go but the people of Kenya will remain as Kenyans.
