Two new CECs in Kisumu sworn-in to take offices

TWO new County Executive Committee members have today been sworn-in to take over offices at the County Government of Kisumu under Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o.

The two County Executive Committee Members have been sworn in to take both the Roads and Public Works and Education respectively.

The two, John Obiero Awiti will be in charge of Education, Information and Communication Technology and Human Resource Development while Dr. Joyce Osogo will be in charge of Roads and Public works.

Addressing the media during the swearing-in ceremony, Kisumu Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o urged the two to start working immediately and serve the people diligently.

He calls for collective responsibility among the CECs working within the County Government of Kisumu.

The duo have promised to deliver to the public and ask for support from all the stakeholders within Kisumu County.

John Obiero Awiti has been sworn-in to take over from Dr. John Ogone who was sacked sometime last month while Dr. Joyce Osogo replaces Thomas Ondijo who was sacked sometime last year.

Awiti, a career educationist has served as Principal of various secondary schools including St. Mary’s Yala High School where he retired.

During his teaching career, he also served as the National Chairman of Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association.

Dr. Joyce Osogo is a Project planning and Management Guru specializing in Project Monitoring and evaluation.

The two now joins their seven colleagues in Governor Nyong’o’s cabinet where only the CEC in charge of Health docket is the one who is yet to be sworn in. A Dr. Nyunya is yet to be sworn-in. 

Governor Nyong’o took back the health docket and is now the acting CEC when he transferred Prof. Judith Miguda Atiang who was transferred to Cooperative and Marketing docket.
