THE Kenya Breweries Limited is targeting 2000 women and youth in its ambitious vocational training session countrywide. The training is part of the project Heshima that aims at providing vocational training to women and youth who are at risk of falling prey to illicit brew consumption and production. Speaking during the official launch of the program in Kisumu on Tuesday this week, Head of Sustainability at Kenya Breweries Jean Kiarie-Ngumo said the project will be rolled out in ten counties of Nairobi, Kwale, Kiambu, Muranga, Nakuru, Makueni, Homa Bay, Migori and Kisumu. HOMA Bay County Governor Cyprian Awiti whose re-election in August 2017 has been today been nullified by the High Court in Homa Bay has vowed to appeal against the Judgment. Awiti says he is not happy with the judgment of the High Court in Homa Bay which has declared his re-election null and void but will respect the Court’s decision which he will now make appeal at the Court of Appeal in Kisumu. Court upholds election of West Nyakach Ward MCA.     A COURT in Nyando Sub-County  has dismissed a petition challenging the election of West Nyakach MCA George Ogutu. Nyando Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo said the petitioner James Omollo who is a former MCA of the area did not present enough evidence to prove his case against the Current MCA. The court has found out that most of the allegations like the voter bribery,conflict of interest,intimidation of Voters among other accusations could not be proved by the petitioner hence dismissing the case.
