Re-appoint Owalo to
the cabinet, Nyanza UDA members urge President Ruto
The Ruling Party United Democratic Alliance {UDA} members in
Nyanza region have urged President Dr William Ruto to re-appoint to the cabinet
the immediate former Cabinet Secretary in charge of ICT and Digital Economy
Eliud Owalo.
Led by Luke Ouko Kirindo{UDA} Coordinator in Kisumu County,
Edwin Gor representing Professionals in Kisumu County, Waore Diang’a, Chairman
Lake Basin Development Authority, Beatrice Oranga, Director Ministry of Labour,
Social Protection and Citizens Affairs and John Odek Coordinator UDA in Homa
Bay County, the UDA Members from Nyanza region Owalo has packaged himself to be
a non-partisan Cabinet Secretary who has served all Kenyans without political
alienation.
In a press statement held in Kisumu today, the UDA Members
from Nyanza region says Owalo has strongly defended the interest of the whole
country in all spheres especially in his former docket of ICT and Digital
Economy.
They say the issue of establishing Digital hubs in markets,
schools and Tertiary institutions across the country has been successful under
Eliud Owalo who has served as the Cabinet Secretary for ICT and Digital
Economy.
They say the former Cabinet Secretary deserves to be
re-appointed to the Cabinet because he has been seen as a performer, adding
that even some polls survey recently ranked him as the second best performing
cabinet Secretary after Prof Kithure Kindiki who has been re-appointed to the
Cabinet.
They ask President Ruto to re-appoint him to any docket in
the Cabinet, adding that Owalo is capable of performing in any docket he will
be placed as a Cabinet Secretary.
“In view of the above, we hope that our beloved President
Dr. William Ruto in his wisdom will consider re-appointing Eliud Owalo to
continue serving the people of this great republic,” they say in a signed press
statement.
The Nyanza UDA members at the same time have hinted that
they believe in a bipartisan approach in solving the current political debacle
that the country is currently witnessing.
“We believe in dialogue, a lack of which the country may
never be the same again. It is not only the Gen Zs whose efforts will bring
sanity and order, not through street protests but through a structured dialogue
with a clear understanding that such dialogues will agreeable and acceptable to
the rest of Kenyans,” they add.
They further say the President should be supported in
steering the Unity Agenda in the country, adding that they appeal to the Head
of State and Government to seek wisdom and true pieces of advice from people of
good will who really love this nation.
We urge the Nyanza leaders to give the president time to work on the cabinet list. The president need a peace of mind to come up with a cabinet that will help him deliver on his promises to the people of kenya. This must not be a tribal issue.
