excels in Last KCPE Exams
A NUMBER of schools both Public and Private in
Kisumu County have excelled well in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary
Education{KCPE} Exams which is the last one in the 8-4-4 System of Education.
A spot check by this writer reveals that a number of schools
within Kisumu County have made a mark in this last class eight National
Examinations.
At Rae Kanyaika Primary school which is a public school,
Felix Omondi Ocholla has managed to scoop 426 marks out of the possible 500 to
emerge the best in Kisumu County and the third best KCPE Candidate nationally. The
best Candidate nationally has scored 428 marks out of possible 500.
Three other candidates at Rae Kanyaika Primary school in
Kisumu East Constituency has managed to score 400 marks and above.
The school’s Head Teacher Paul Odhiambo says last year, they
did not managed to get a candidate scoring 400 marks and above, adding that
this year’s exams results is exemplary.
He says the school presented a total of 167 candidates who
sat this last KCPE exams, adding that disciplined and hard work has really help
the school to get good results.
“We have managed it through hard work and good discipline and
we really thank God for this good result we have posted,”
At Golden Elite School in Kisumu Central Sub-County which is
a private school, the top candidate managed to score 420 marks.
The school has managed to have about 10 candidates with 400
and above marks in this year’s KCPE.
Xaverian Primary school which is a public Primary school within
Kisumu Central sub-county, their top candidate managed to score 407 marks.
The school’s Head Teacher George Polo says the school has
posted good result, adding that they thank God for the performance so far.
At St Christopher Kolunga Primary school, the top candidate Trizah Atieno Opiyo managed to get 399 marks while second one Abraham Abwao Odhiambo got 390 in this year’s KCPE exams.
