Intertwine Malaria
Control with environmental conservation in africa
Stakeholders on the issue of Controlling Malaria in Africa have been
urged to intertwine the fight against Malaria and Environmental conservation.
Speaking during this year’s World Malaria Day in Kisumu ,
Bernard Okebe, Kenya’s Coordinator for the African Media and Malaria Research
Network{AMMREN} says it is high time community Groups and various stakeholders look
into the nexus between Malaria and
Environmental conservation efforts since the two are interconnected.
Okebe says preventive measures on Malaria should also focus on
environmental concerns in the fight against the disease.
“This Year’s Theme is to Re-ignite and Re-invest on Malaria Control
Initiative and it is therefore imperative for various stakeholders to do things
unusual way in concerted efforts if the World if to triumph on the war against
Malaria,” said Okebe during an earlier event that brought participants from the
Kenya Nile Discourse Forum{KDNF}.

Media Houses urged the Media and other stakeholders to fully re-focus on the
fight against Malaria.
This year’s World Malaria Day has been marked today
April 25, 2025 with a theme of Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite."
This theme emphasizes the need for
increased investment, innovative solutions, and renewed commitment to combat
malaria. It's a call to action for all to
