Young professionals backs Ranguma’s re-election bid.

A group of young professionals from Kisumu County have endorsed Kisumu Governor JackRanguma’s re-election bid in this year’s General Elections.

The team composed of about 120 professionals said Ranguma as a pioneer governor he has laid a strong foundation for growth and requires to continue with the work for uninterrupted development.

Addressing the Press in Kisumu on Tuesday, the team said Ranguma has created an enabling environment for investments, something they said was helping create employment opportunities for the young professionals.

“We are rooting for Ranguma’s re-election because of his clear track record which can be seen especially at the grass root level in most parts of the seven sub-counties,” they said in a statement read by the group’s chairman Charles Okumu.

They said Ranguma is the only Governor who has successfully implemented the secondary school scholarship program of about 600 students whose fees are fully paid for the four years in secondary school.

At the same time, they asked the Orange Democratic Movement Party National Election Board to conduct a free, fair and transparent nomination process.

“ODM must fully allow its members to fully and freely elect leaders of their choice without interference from any quarter,” they stated.

They further added that interference with the party primaries is likely to cause voter apathy that could have a negative impact during the General Elections.
