Passengers escape death narrowly as bus and trailer collide.

Scores of people escaped death by a whisker after a trailer and a mini-bus involved in an accident along Kisumu-Busia Road.

The accident occurred along Otonglo market last evening left the passenger with serious injuries when the two vehicles involved in a head on collision.

Those who arrived at the scene first said about five people were seriously injured including two children.

The bus was heading towards Busia direction while the trailer was headed to Kisumu city when the tragedy happened.

An eye witness told the reporters who visited the scene that she heard a loud bang and only saw the bus by the roadside with goods belonging to the passengers strewn all over.

Police visited the scene and well wishers rushed the injured to the hospital where they are receiving treatment following the accident.

The accident caused a major snarl up along the said road as motorists were to wait for the police to clear the traffic jam.
 
Nyanza Regional Traffic enforcement officer Andrew Naibei confirmed the accident and said non perished the victims sustained injuries and were rushed to various hospitals.

He urged the motorists to drive carefully so as to avoid road accidents caused by human errors.
