The Distribution of food items to the victims of flood in parts of Ksm County donated by a group of young Kenyan men and women living in United States has entered its fourth and final day today.

The donation that been made by two Kenyan Lobby groups in America has been distributed by Good Hearted Friends Organization in Kisumu.

The two Lobby groups known as Kano Empowerment Association USA and Kavirondo Men Group donated cash worth nearly half a million towards the purchase of the food items that has been distributed to about 10,000 families who have been affected by flood following heavy downpour in parts of Nyando, Muhoroni and Kisumu East Constituencies.

Addressing the media during the last day of distribution today in Nyando, Director of Good Hearted Friends Organization Silas Odhiambo says they have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have been affected by the flood hence needs assistance.

He says they have managed to re-organize the budget so as to accommodate most of the affected areas in the three Constituencies.

Odhiambo says there has been a number of challenges ranging from accessing some of the flooded area but they have managed to distribute the food items successfully.

Odhiambo appeals to more well-wishers to come to the rescue of the flood victims, adding that the more rains being witnessed may still displaced a number of people within Kisumu County.

The team visited more than 20 areas in the three Constituencies which included Bwanda,Lela,Masogo,Ayweyo RC,Ayweyo Luora,Kolwa,NambaOkana,Nyangoto,Kore,Nyamkebe, Hongo Ogosa,Kochogo,Kakola Ahero and Wang'aya  in Muhoroni among others where they distributed the food items that included Maize flour,Sugar,Dry maize among other food items.
