Ruto told to prioritize economy recovery as Kenyans heads to New Year

President William Ruto has been told to give priority on issues of ensuring that the dwindling economy recovers fully.

Former President of the East African Law Society Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu says ensuring that economy is fully recovered should be a priority for the sitting President as Kenyans head to the New Year of 2025.

Addressing the press at his Kisumu office, Mwamu said the President should ensure that this is his number one resolution for the coming New Year.

Mwamu says the President should firmly deal with the issue of high inflation that has led to a very high cost of living.

Mwamu also urge the President to look into the high cost of production of goods and services across the country and see a way of lowering, adding that many people have abandoned the issue of Production because its cost is very high.

“Many businesses have been closed down across the country simply because they cannot afford th high cost of production and this should be re-looked into as we head to the New Year of 2025,” Mwamu says.

Mwamu at the same time has told President Ruto to squarely deal with the issue of public debts, adding that the Government must find a way of reducing both Domestic Public Debts and International Debts.

The Former President of the East African Law Society has also asked the Government to deal with the issue of abductions, adding that it has become the issue of a national concern.

“President Ruto is the Commander-In-Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces and he must be able to deal with this issue of abductions once and for all,” Mwamu adds.

He says the law is very clear on those who have been arrested on suspicion of committing various crime where they are required to be arraigned before court within 48 Hours without fail.

“We therefore expect that those who were arrested during the Christmas Day celebrations to be arraigned in Court by now so as to answer the charges preferred against them,”Mwamu further says.

Mwamu has urged Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to come clear on the issue where allegation has been hipped on the National Police Service being connected with abductions.

“Inspector General of Police should be able to tell Kenyans where those who have been abducted are because it is the responsibility of the National Police Service to protect lives and property of Kenyans at all time,” Mwamu further adds.
