County Govt Ksm told to post medics to Angola Health Facility in Ksm East
The county Government of Kisumu has been told to immediately
post a doctor and a nurse to the newly built health facility using donor
funding in Kolwa East in Kisumu East Constituency.
The residents of the greater Kolwa now wants the Country
Government of Kisumu under Prof Anyang Nyong’o to post the officers as soon as
possible to Angola Health Center that has been constructed by a donor and
handed over to the community.
President of Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation James Aggrey
Mwamu says it is prudent for the health facility to be functional and it is
high time the County Government of Kisumu to take the responsibility of posting
the required medics in the facility to serve the public within the area and
beyond.
Mwamu says he has received complaints from the residents of the
area on why they are still referred to Nyalunya Health Center some kilometers
away in Kolwa Central because of lack of health personnel in the donor funded
facility.
Mwamu says there is also the need to post a lab technician so as
to carry out the duties within the health facilities.
Mwamu says the facility is fully equipped with various medical
equipment and only it is the medics who are lacking to serve the people.
Mwamu who spoke at St Meshack Fellowship Church at Nyatege area
in Mahenya Sub Location within the Constituency when the Foundation donated
Covid 19 kits to 50 Community Health Volunteers(Nyamrerwa) within the area said
the role the CHVs are doing within the community is very vital hence the need
to recognize their work.
He says the Angola Health Facility is very key to the CHVs work
hence the need to post medics immediately.
During the function, the CHVs appreciated the Foundation for
providing them with Covid 19 kits like face masks, Sanitizers and lessos for
their work in the community as Community Health volunteers.
