MP Calls for continued peaceful co-existence between two communities

A Member of Parliament has called upon the communities living along Nandi/Kisumu and Kericho/Kisumu Borders to continue co-existing peacefully.

Muhoroni Member of Parliament James Mathews Onyango Ko’yoo says the two communities of Nandi and the Luos have been living peacefully since time immemorial hence the need to maintain it.

Addressing the residents of Muhoroni constituency during the disbursement of NGCDF scholarship for form one students joining National schools, the Member of Parliament says the two communities shared a lot in common including some economic resources that have made them to be together as one.

K’Oyoo says they have ensured that two communities live peacefully by doing even businesses and farming of sugarcane.

The Member of Parliament says there is need to have development projects along the borders that may be shared by the communities as these will help in promoting peaceful co-existence among the various communities staying within the said areas.

The Legislator at the same time has urged Kenyans to move on a put behind the events of the August 9, 2022 Polls, adding that moving forward is the only way as a Nation.

K’Oyoo says as elected Leaders in Nyanza Region particularly Kisumu County, they have presented the National Government with a wish list of development projects that they want it tackled during President Dr. William Ruto’s reign.

He says during the recent visit by President Ruto in Nyanza, they managed to have a meeting with him and presented him the wish list.

In the list, K’Oyoo says they list Muhoroni-Chemelil- Kibos Road to be constructed, the Multi-Purpose Koru-Soin Dam, the issue of state owned Sugar Factories within the Nyando Sugar Belt among other development projects that should be tackled in Nyanza region through the funding from the National Government.
