I am in ODM Party to stay
but will work closely with Govt, Siaya DG says
Siaya County Deputy Governor Dr William Oduol has reiterated
that he is fully in the Orange Democratic Movement{ODM} Party to stay but has
disclosed that he will closely work with
the current Kenya Kwanza Government to help in bringing the development to various
parts of Siaya County.
Dr Oduol says he is the undisputed Deputy Governor of Siaya
County but he is friendly to the Kenya Kwanza Government and will closely work
with it.
Addressing a gathering of students, Parents and other
stakeholders in Ng’iya Girls National School and St Mary’s Lwak Girls High
school in Siaya County during the official launch of Digital Laboratory by the
Cabinet Secretary in charge of ICT and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo, the Siaya Deputy
Governor said Senators allied to the United Democratic Alliance {UDA} and its
affiliate parties really came to his rescue during the recent impeachment
motion against him before the Senate and they indeed saved him.
Oduol says he has made a decision deliberately to work
closely with Kenya Kwanza Government under President Dr. William Ruto to help
in bringing development in various parts of Siaya County.
“These people really
saved me the impeachment motion. If your brother put a sledged hammer on your
head about to break it up and your neighbor by gracious luck stopped that. Whom
do you run to?” Dr Oduol asks.
Oduol hinted that he may act as the Governor during public
functions in Siaya County where his Boss Siaya Governor James Orengo will not
show up.
“When it comes to public functions organized by the National
Government, I will be assuming the position of acting Governor of Siaya County
because I know My Governor may not come to such functions but when he comes, we
will recognize him and give him his space but in an event he does not come, I
will remain the acting Governor and will remain the substantive Deputy Governor
of Siaya County,” Dr Oduol says.
On her part, Former Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro who
recently defected to the United Democratic Alliance{UDA} Party says the current
Kenya Kwanza Government should be given time to implement its various election
pledges to Kenyans.
Ongoro says it is still too early to judge the current
Government as a failure, adding that its needs to be given about six months or
one year from now so as to be judged on its performance.
She says the Government recently received its first
budgetary allocation since it assumed power in September last year and it is
ready to implement its manifesto.
Ongoro says despite the current hardship and the high cost
of living, the Kenya Kwanza Government will deliver its promises to Kenyans.
