It is important for Kenya to have peace, church leader say

It is very important for this country to maintain peace and tranquility so it to realize development in various parts of the country, a clergy has said.

 

The cardinal Arch Bishop of Nomiya Church Moses Oketch says it is high time politicians give priority on issues of maintaining peace and tranquility in the country other than engaging in demonstrations that have no meaning to the Kenyans who have already been burden by the issue of high cost of living.

 

Addressing the media during the Sunday Church Service at Ong’eche Nomiya Church in Nyando, the Cardinal Arch Bishop Oketch said Politicians should now engage in proper dialoguing other than engaging in endless political campaigns.

 

Oketch has asked the Opposition should stop constant threats to the Government with streets demonstration but should engage the Government on fruitful discussion on issues affecting Kenyans currently.

 

The Cardinal Arch Bishop says it is now time for the Government to deliver its election pledges made during the campaigns.

 

He urges politicians not to engage in inciting Kenyans against one another, adding that the cohesiveness of the country is very vital indeed.

 

He says as a church they fully support the current ongoing talks between Azimio La Umoja and the Kenya Kwanza Government, adding that they hope it will yield fruits to Kenyans.
