Parents with form ones early next year told not to overspend this festive

A NUMBER of parents across the country who will be taking their children to form one have been urged not to overspend during this forthcoming festive hence get stranded come January next year.

President of Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu says parents who have children joining form one as from January next year need to plan early for such and not overspend during the Christmas and New Year’s festive.

Addressing the press at his office in Kisumu today where he congratulated the schools in Kisumu County which have posted good results during this last KCPE exams that was released yesterday, Mwamu said Parents who have saved some money will great get it easy when it comes to admitting their sons and daughters in various school next year in January.

Mwamu says no time is left now hence the need by various parents to start early preparations for their children.

“No child across the country should miss joining form one because of lack of school fees,” he says.

Mwamu has also asked those in charge of disbursing bursary to ensure that the funds are available for needy and bright students joining form one to access it early enough.

“The bursary being awarded at the constituency level should be available earlier enough to benefit the bright but needy students joining form one,” Mwamu says

Mwamu at the same time has told the government to fully fund the Competency based curriculum for its full implementation as Kenya Certificate of Primary Education has come to an end this year.

“Time has come when the Government must now fully fund the Competency Based Curriculum for its successful implementation,” Mwamu adds.

The President of Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation has congratulated both Primary and Private schools that have done well during this year's KCPE exams.

He particularly singled out Rae Kanyaika Primary school which has produced the third best candidate nationally after scoring 426 marks.

Felix Ochola emerged the third best candidate in this year's last KCPE after scoring 426 marks.
