Alliance to recognize outstanding Kenyans in Diaspora

A DIASPORA outfit is set to award Kenyans living abroad who have excelled in their respective careers and made positive contributions to the country.

The Kenya Diaspora Alliance Chairperson Dr. Shem Ochuodho has announced the launch of the 2023 Diaspora Awards saying that the event is set to celebrate and recognize the remarkable contributions and achievements of individuals from diverse Kenyan diaspora communities across the world.

“The Kenya Diasporas Alliance recognizes the awards as a beacon of acknowledgement for individuals who have not only demonstrated excellence, innovation, and impact but have also showcased the positive influence of diaspora communities on a global scale,” Ochuodho says.

He says the awards will be presented at the Kenya Diaspora Homecoming Convention (KDHC) 2023 that will bring together exceptional individuals from various fields.

He highlights the invaluable contributions of diaspora communities worldwide. It is set to be held from 6 to 8 of next month.

He says this networking and partnership event annually brings together Kenyans living and working abroad to celebrate the year that has passed, network, make projections, and receive updates on upcoming opportunities and activities.

 “The awards serve as a testament to the multifaceted brilliance of diaspora individuals. We are encouraging Kenyans living and working abroad to attend the conference either in person or virtually,” Ochuodho adds.

The awards honors Kenyans in diaspora whose efforts focus on driving the revitalization and economic progress around the world. It celebrates the accomplishments of exemplary individuals from the Kenyan Diaspora who excel in various spheres of life and individuals in society working towards advancing the Diaspora as a whole.

According to the organization, the awards hold a vital mission to inspire and motivate the next generation through sharing success stories and innovative endeavors that encourages individuals within diaspora communities to aspire to greatness.

The lobby is pushing for the government to underscore the significant influence of diaspora communities in fostering global understanding, cultural exchange, diplomacy, and socio-economic development by uniting exceptional individuals, professionals, and organizations.

WIDU.Africa will be awarding entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence in their projects as well as celebrating best innovations.

WIDU.Africa applies an innovative approach that combines funding and coaching to strengthen new and existing small businesses in Africa, which then leads to the creation of new jobs.

The 2023 Diaspora Awards are designed to recognize outstanding achievements in a diverse range of categories. From Arts and Culture to Science and Technology, Entrepreneurship to Philanthropy and many others. The lobby explained that the categories celebrate the incredible talents and passions within the Kenyan diaspora.
