41 students in Muhoroni get shs 1.2M Scholarship to university education  

A total of 41 students who are joining various universities across the country have received scholarship from Muhoroni National Government Constituency Development Fund to further their Education.

The 41 students are joining the universities as first years to study technical courses beginning this Academic year 2024/2025 that kicks off this August.

Speaking during the presentation of the cheques to the 41 students from the various wards of Muhoroni constituency, Muhoroni National Government constituency Development Fund Constituency Manager Sospeter Ngere on behalf of the Muhoroni Member of Parliament Onyango K’Oyoo said the students have gotten the scholarship to study Law, Medicine and Surgery and Engineering.

Ngere says they have all received a total of shs 1.2 million for the first batch of the scholarship.

He says each student has been allocated shs 30,000 for the first batch of the scholarship program.

The Constituency Manager says the students are those whom they have fully sponsored in their four year secondary school education, adding that they have been considered to continue with their university education through scholarship.

He says the program of sponsoring the needy but bright students from secondary to university education begun in 2014 when the Current Muhoroni Member of Parliament was first Elected to Parliament and embarked on empowering the community on education human resource.

He adds that the batch of the students joining the universities is the tenth one to be sponsored to study technical courses at the University level.

Patrick Otieno, one of the beneficiaries of the program who is set to join Kenyatta University says he received scholarship from Muhoroni Member of Parliament to further his secondary education at Maranda high school four years ago and has now managed to secure another one to help him study Medicine and surgery at the university.

He is very much thankful to the Muhoroni Member of Parliament for initiating such a wonderful program for the needy but bright students from the constituency.

He has promised to work hard during his journey at the university while studying medicine and surgery.

“I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our Member of Parliament for Muhoroni constituency who has been sponsoring us through NGCDF scholarship program. He has indeed given hopes to us and I promise to work smart at the university and come out with a good result in the final end,” he says.
