Muhoroni NGCDF to construct shs 70M TVET

The Muhoroni NGFDF has set aside shs 70 Million to commence the construction of a Technical and Vocational Education Training institution within the constituency.

The Technical and Vocational Education Training Center will be constructed at Ofis Ng’eny area within Sidho East.

Muhoroni NGCDF Constituency Manager Sospeter Ngere says the construction of the institution will commence soon as funds have been set aside for its construction.

Ngere says the Technical institution will be known as Muhoroni Technical and Vocational Training Center.

He says the institution will target those who have not qualified for the University education and would want to undertake technical courses at the Technical and Vocational Training Center.

Ngere adds that the institution will be renamed as Aora Ndinya, the Former Principal of Kisumu Technical Training Institute who hailed from the area.

He says the area Member of Parliament James Mathews Onyango Ko’Oyoo is very keen on promoting technical courses in all cadres hence the plan mooted for the construction of the Technical and Vocational Training Center within Muhoroni constituency.

Ngere further says the tender towards the project has been concluded and contract awarded, adding that only the ground breaking ceremony is the only thing being waited for.

Ngere spoke in Muhoroni constituency during the function where 41 bright but needy students joining universities were awarded scholarship by Muhoroni Constituency NGCDF to further their education at the University level.

They were awarded shs 1.2 million in the first batch that has enabled them to join the institution of higher learning.

The students who have been awarded the scholarship are those going to study technical courses that include Medicine and Surgery, Law and Engineering.

This is the tenth lot of students to be awarded the scholarship by the Muhoroni NGCDF since the current Member of Parliament James Onyango Ko’Oyoo joined Parliament in 2013 and the program kicked off in 2024.

The Program that has run for the last ten years has seen a good number of Engineers, Laws and Doctors produced within Muhoroni constituency as a way of promoting Human Resource Development in the said constituency.
