DCI told to thoroughly investigate exams irregularities

THE Directorate of Criminal Investigations has been told to thoroughly investigate the alleged exam irregularities in some parts of the country in the ongoing form four National Examinations.

Former President of the East African Law Society James Aggrey Mwamu says a number of cases of exam irregularities in the KCSE 2024 have been reported in some parts of the country that needs thorough investigations.

He says DCI is capable of cooperating with other Government agencies to unearth the scandal in the alleged exam cheating.

Addressing the press at his Kisumu office, Mwamu said engaging in any form of exam malpractice compromises the integrity of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education {KCSE} exams.

Mwamu says the integrity of the National Examinations is very important because the students who pass exams well will be subjected to test to see whether they are qualified and get employment in the Global Market.

Mwamu adds that those students who have cheated in national examinations can never be employed by the International companies.

He has challenged the Ministry of Education to get into the bottom of this matter, adding that integrity of the National exams must be fully protected.

Mwamu wants all those who have engaged in any form of exams irregularity to be held personally responsible.

Mwamu at the same time has supported both the Catholic, Anglican Church of Kenya Bishops and other Clergy who have told the Government to fulfill its promises and stop lying to Kenyans.

He says this is a true reflections on how many Kenyans feels, adding that the President should take very seriously those statements from the clergy.

Mwamu has urged clergy from other churches to also come out and speak on behalf of the people of Kenya, adding that the Opposition in the current Parliament has gone mute.
