Over 400 Trained Riders get licenses from Ksm Central MP
Kisumu central constituency Member of
Parliament Joshua Oron has issued over
400 driving licences and certificates to trained riders who completed training
through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF).
The Kisumu central constituency driving
training bursary scheme that takes place every year at a cost of 10M is aimed to
empower youths through skills training and road safety training.
Speaking at his Kisumu central
constituency office, Dr Oron noted that the participants who received their
driving licences and certificates are of different categories.
The Lawmaker says they include Tuktuk
drivers, motor vehicle drivers and boda boda riders.
"This is an annual event to up
skill the residents especially the youths to put them ready for employment or
to move them closer to employment as one of the initiatives that we promised
the constituents," Oron says.
The Kisumu Central MP further notes
that ceremony marks the second time they are marking the initiative as the
first had 450 participants as he delivers on his promises.
"We are monitoring to see how
many of the first bunch has gone into the job market," he adds.
Oron has said that the program implemented in
conjunction with the traffic police officers to ensure that the drivers abide
by the traffic rules and Regulations.
He promised to continue doing the
training in conjunction with shapin driving school every year as between 400 to
500 youths are targeted as it cuts across all the gender.
He further states that some of the
development projects he is undertaking under the NGCDF as currently the
construction of new secondary schools, adding that one is in kanyakwar and the
other one in Market Milimani ward.
He says the projects should be ready
by the end of the year to allow the smooth transition of grade 9 students to
grade 10 come next year.
"The one we are building in
Milimani is a girl’s secondary day school to allow the girls to learn in a
clean and conducive environment," he says.
Oron also mentioned the construction
of ready and well equipped laboratories across the constituency as 8 have
already been set.
"One of our biggest projects on
education is the kosawo secondary school which will host five streams per class
and it will be ready in the next three months," he further adds.
He further said that over 10,000
students in various secondary schools are benefiting from the Kisumu central
NGCDF and over 3,000 students in universities and colleges gaining from the
same funds scheme and a bus will also be delivered in one of the schools.
He applauded his NGFDC Team for
building over 50 classrooms since he got into the office as he delivers his
promises to his constituents.
Oron mentioned the major milestones
he has made in the health sector as he secures medical camps amidst health
crisis as a health center with 20 beds is under construction at Juakali .
On politics , Oron applauds the working
relationship between Raila Odinga and President william Ruto since they got
into an MoU as the fruits of the mutual agreement are being seen with
allocating different ministries including Energy ,Finance among others to ODM
as ODM members supports the government deliver it's key agenda to the people of
Kenya .
"In history,we have also seen
major Parliament committees going to ODM notably committee chair of Health
given to Seme constituency Member of Parliament Hon James Nyikal , committee
chair of budget given to Hon Samuel Atandi Alego Usonga member of Parliament
among others and we look forward for more slots permanent secretaries given to
ODM ," he says.
He notes that as ODM members they are
in the government to help William Ruto to deliver to the people of Kenya Up to
2027 and beyond.
Oron also mentioned a number of
projects they have presented to President William Ruto to see their completion
that includes Koru soin dam project,kabonyo kanyakwar fish project and Mamboleo
Muhoroni road .
