Kisumu East residents urge to register in large numbers as IEBC deadline nears  

 

Residents of Kisumu East Constituency have been urged to register in large numbers as voters ahead of next year's polls.

 

Aspiring Member of Parliament for Kisumu East Constituency Lawyer James Mwamu has appealed to the area residents to turn up in large numbers and register as voters in order to fully vote for Prime Minister Raila Odinga who seeks to be elected as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his final term in office.

 

Mwamu has declared that he will vie for the Parliamentary seat on Orange Democratic Movement {ODM} party ticket during the next years polls in August.

 

Addressing the residents of Kajulu area in Obwolo, Gita,Kihanja, Mamboleo among other areas during an exercise to mop up the residents to come out in large numbers to register as voters, Mwamu said the residents should utilize the remaining few days to get registered as voters before the  official close of the exercise next week.

 

Mwamu says it is the more registered voters whom after voting in the August next year's polls will help in propelling Raila Odinga as the next President of the country.

 

Mwamu at the same time have sent his message of condolence to the family of the retired Anglican Church of Kenya Bishop of Maseno South Diocese Dr. Francis Mwayi Abiero who passed on last week on Friday November 29, 2021.

 

Mwamu has described the late Retired Bishop as one of the most dedicated bishops the Church has ever had.

 

The retired Bishop Mwayi served for 24 years as the Bishop in charge of ACK Maseno South Diocese from 1994 to 2018 after he took over from the late Bishop Dr John Henry Okulu.

 

He was succeeded by the current Bishop of the diocese the Right Reverend Charles Ong’injo.

 

On Corona virus, Mwamu has told the public to be fully aware that the disease is still in existence hence should strictly follow the laid down guidelines from the Ministry.

 

He has advised the public to avoid overcrowded places and keep social distance as well as wearing face masks at all time.
