Students told to continue with their personal studies as Holiday kicks off

Students have been advised to continue with their personal study while at home during this first term’s holiday that has kicked off.

Senior Principal of St Gregory Girls High School in Muhoroni Constituency within Kisumu County Mercy Olando says it is the only learning environment that has been shifted from school to home hence the students should utilize the holiday well.

Addressing the press after Parents Annual General Meeting held at Koru Girls High School, the Senior Principal said the students can use the Holiday to embark on personal studies and revising in readiness for next term.

Olando says this is also the time students will be able to do the schools’ assignment given to do at home during the holiday.

Olando has urged parents to keenly monitor what their sons and daughters are doing during the holiday, adding that parents must take the responsibilities of taking care of their children during such a time like  this until they go back to school for the second that kicks off next month.

Similar sentiments have also been echoed by the Chairman of the Kenya Secondary schools Heads Association{KESSHA} Muhoroni Branch George Ombok who has equally advised students to work smart during the holiday and not to lose focus till they go back to their institutions of learning next term.

He advises parents to be on the lookout and monitor their children during this time, adding that there are a lot of challenges facing children.

He urges students not to engage in activities that can undermine their peace during the holiday.

Muhoroni Member of Parliament James Onyango K’Oyoo says he is really impressed by the performance of Koru Girls High school in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education {KCSE} where they posted a mean grade that has been encouraging indeed.
