37 schools have benefitted from Foundation’s donation of Covid-19 kits
A TOTAL of 37 schools in Kisumu County have so far benefitted from donation of Covid-19 kits from a Foundation.
The President of Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu says it has now visited a total of 37 schools in Kisumu County where it has donated the Kits that include Hand washing Tanks, Sanitizers, Thermo guns and Face Masks.
He says the donation has been so helpful in preventing the spread of Corona virus that it first case was reported in the country last year in March.
Mwamu says the public should be very careful and ensure they observe the laid down rules on Covid-19 to avoid its spread.
Mwamu has urged the well-wishers to help in donating such items, adding that a number of schools within Kisumu County still require such items to help in preventing the spread of the Corona Virus.
“I want to urge our people to be very careful with the Corona Virus. This is because it is still with us and we must observe the Ministry of Health Guideline on Covid-19,” Mwamu says.
The Foundation targets to reach 100 schools within Kisumu County to give such donations.
He says after visiting 100 schools while donating the items, the foundation will now embark on a program of helping the vulnerable groups in Kisumu County.
Last Week on Friday, the Foundation visited Masawa, Chiga and Obino Primary schools and distributed the items.
The other week, the Foundation visited Akado Nursery School in Kisumu East Constituency and Migingo Girls Secondary school in Nyando where it has donated the items.
While mid January this year, the Foundation visited Kisumu School formerly Kisumu Boys High School within Kisumu Central Constituency and donated the Covid-19 items to the school.
Now a total of 37 schools have so far benefitted, in December Last year, three schools namely Mbeme, Rweya Primary schools and Maisha Academy all in Kisumu East Constituency were the beneficiaries with Maisha Academy becoming the first private school to benefit.
Mwamu has urged the well-wishers to help in donating such items, adding that a number of schools within Kisumu County still require such items to help in preventing the spread of the Corona Virus.

Mwamu at the same has urged both the National and County Governments to consider repairing roads within Kisumu County terming them impassable including those leading to various schools.
