 Kidero hints at a robust ICT Plan for Homa Bay County

 

A Homa Bay County Gubernatorial aspirant has a robust Information and Communication Technology plan for the county should he be elected as the next Governor in next year’s polls to replace Governor Cyprian Awiti who is serving his second and final term in office.

 

Dr. Evans Kidero says Innovation is the backbone of any thriving economy within a country and no county including Homa Bay should be left lagging behind.

 

He says to bolster innovation and diffused economic growth, the renaissance Homa Bay county next Government under his leadership as the Second Governor will heavily invest in an ICT centered delivery and innovation ecosystem.

 

Kidero says the United Nations has included access to ICT for all and the ICT4D (ICT for development) as one of the key spices towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on poverty eradication.

 

Under the leadership of Dr. Evans Kidero he says the disruptive technology will be employed in building the renaissance Homa Bay in the aspects of e-government to enhance access to county government opportunities and right to access information as outlined in the constitution 2010.

 

“I intend to introduce the e-revenue to seal revenue collection loopholes and increase Homa Bay county collection as well as introducing the block chain technology in health system management, records and patients tracking and telemedicine with ICT as an enabler in agricultural innovation, agricultural production improvement, produce marketing among others,” says Dr. Kidero adding that he did this in Nairobi when he was its first Governor from 2013 to 2017.

 

The government of Dr. Kidero shall as well prioritize the merging of information technology and entrepreneurialism in public health, nutrition education, and fitness, social prosperity among others to meet needs of the Homa Bay citizens and increase our productivity in this changing world of technology.

 

“The world has taken lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic which has disrupted the normal and shifted gears to a world of ICT and Homa Bay must be in the frontline towards embracing this revolution,” he adds.
