EDUCATION Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has warned people including some teachers who plan to do the Kenya Certificate of Secondary education Exams and pass the papers to students not to dare doing so as the National Exams kicks off this Friday.
Magoha says there are police officers who providing security for the exams materials and will patrol within the examination centers so as help in curbing such form of cheating.
Addressing the press at Manyatta Primary school in Kisumu where he witness the official end of the year 2020 KCPE exams, Magoha says a small number of people have planned to executive doing KCSE exams for some students in some examination centers including some teachers in the ill-deal.
“The Patrol are not going to be a normal one because there are a small number of people who have planned to do KCSE Exams for some candidates within rooms they have identified in schools. These people include some teachers to execute this,” Magoha says.
Magoha says if they dare doing some, the law enforcers will arrest them immediately.
“We are not going to negotiate with the future of our children. As I warn this people, I would like the candidates who are going to take this exams as from this Friday to feel extremely free and relax because they are going to do this exams under extreme circumstances,” Magoha adds.
He says they are closely monitoring a number of exam centers, adding that the state security agents are on the lookout.
Magoha has directed all the Center Managers across the country to confirm that they carry the correct examination package so as not bring confusion once arrived at the centers.
The Education Cabinet Secretary says the Ministry of ICT is going to be very critical especially during the marking session.
On the issue of disbursement of funds to Secondary schools, Prof Magoha says the Government has released shs 7.5 billion to secondary schools which is already reflecting in secondary schools accounts.
He says President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered for the release of the funds three weeks ago.
Magoha says the remaining 50 percent of the funds will be disbursed by the end of next month of April.
“We would not like to hear a situation where people say there are no money for practical exams in schools because funds have been released,” he further says.
