involve professionals in making CIDPs
THE 47 County Governments across the country have been urged
to fully involve professionals from different fields in coming up with their
County Integrated Development Plans {CIDPs}.
The Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya {ACEK} says
this will ensure that the input of professionals from different fields are
include during the process of making the five-year County Integrated
Development Plan.

of Consulting Engineers of Kenya {ACEK}, the Association’s Chairman Engineer

participation in line with Article 10 of the Constitution on National Value and

He says such document should be prepared after a thorough
researched information is done and should never emanate from street opinions.
“If county governments engage various professionals in the
process of making their County’s integrated Development Plans, then the

development under my guidance when I was the Minister for Planning and National
Development,” Nyong’o says.

Kisumu has developed the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), which
guides its infrastructure development.
“In this County, engineers play a key
role in the planning, design and implementation of the infrastructure, as well
as in its operation and maintenance. As part of
our CIDP, engineers have heled us to undertake
