Clergy urges Luo Community to work closely with Ruto’s Govt

The Luo Community have been urged to work closely with the National Government of President Dr. William Ruto since it is the Government of the Day.

A Clergy has said that the Kenya Kwanza Government under President Dr. William Ruto is the one that is presently existing.

Addressing the congregation at his Home in Nyando constituency on Saturday during his enthronement as the Arch Bishop of Faith of Jesus Mission, Arch Bishop Eric Ojuki said it is time for the Luo Community to come closely and work with the Present Government.

Arch Bishop Ojuki says the Community should never hesitate in ensuring that it is not left out of the current government in terms of various development to be carried out by the national government.

Ojuki says already there is indication that the Government is ready to work with various communities across the country and the Luo Community should never be left out.

“Let us embrace this Government because it is the only one existing at the moment and there is no any other one we are waiting for as a community,” the Arch Bishop says.

The Arch Bishop has urged President William Ruto to work on a program aimed at uniting the entire country after the August 9 General election.

He urges the Government to work closely with the various religions across the country for the purpose of preaching peace after the poll.

“We sincerely urge President William Ruto to embark on a mission of uniting the country after the August 9 polls as this is important indeed,” he says.

The clergy at the same time has urged  the current Government not to rush in amending the constitution of Kenya 2010 but address the various problems bedeviling the country that include hard economic situation.

He says if at all there is need to change the Constitution, then the best option is to go back to Kenyans through a process of public participation to get their views on which sections of the constitution need to be amended.

“The Supreme Court of Kenya had ruled that the Executive wing of the Government led by the President cant initiate a constitutional amendment process but the public has this and this is why the BBI process was unconstitutional,” he adds.

Arch Bishop Elisha Akoo of the Holy Trinity Church of African has urged the religions across the country to remain united and preach peace for the country to maintain being peaceful.

Arch Bishop Akoo has urged Kenyans to celebrate the Christmas and New Year festive in a peaceful manner.
