Schools in Kisumu shine in KCPE exams

A NUMBER of primary schools both public and private have shown good performance in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education {KCPE} exams for this year.

At Golden Elites School, there was songs and dance as parents joined teachers and candidates to celebrate their excellent performance in this year’s Class Eight National exams that the new Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released.

The school has posted good results as about 25 of its candidates scored 400 marks and above.

According to Manager of the school Joan Ochome, its best candidate Keith Nimrod Ochieng scored 429 marks which is only two marks behind the Top candidate in the country who has scored 431 marks.

Ochome attributes the school’s sterling performance to believing in the power of God coupled with having very well disciplined candidates who were ready to work hard being assisted by their dedicated teaching staff.

She says the academic year has been very short indeed but they managed to finish the syllabus in time and embarked on thorough revision for the exams which its 110 candidates tackled and has done well.

The Manager adds that the school will try and work extra hard to post another better result in the KCPE 2023 exams.
