Ksm approves all ten CECs nominees
THE County Assembly of Kisumu has today approved the ten
County Executive Committee Members nominees who are going to serve in the
second administration of the Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o.
In a motion tabled before the County Assembly of Kisumu by
the Assembly’s leader of Majority Party Ken Ooko and debated by most members of
the County Assembly of Kisumu, the ten CECs nominees have been approved and are
now waiting to be sworn-in to begin their official duty.
During the session presided over by the Speaker of the
County Assembly of Kisumu Elisha Jack Oraro, Members debated on the report by
the Committee on Appointment after it was adopted by the County Assembly.
The report has been approved at 18:20 hours with majority of
the Members of the County Assembly giving it a node.
Those who have been approved include George Omondi Okong’o
nominee for the position of Finance and economic planning.
Kenneth Onyango, former Majority Leader at the County
Assembly of Kisumu who has been nominated for the Position of County Executive Committee
Member in charge of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has been approved as
well as John Awiti who has been nominated to the Education, Vocational Training
and Social Services.
Others who have been approved include Beatrice Odongo, the
nominee for Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth Affairs, Dr. Gregory Ganda, the
nominee for the position of Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation and
Merilene Agwa to be in charge of Water docket.
Salmon Orimba and Faridah Salim have been approved to handle
Public works and trade respectively while Kennedy Hongo and Judith Oluoch have
been approved to head Lands and Public Service respectively.
The ten County Executive Committee members nominees now
awaits swearing –in before taking the offices officially.
