Kisumu County CEC Members sworn in

ALL the Ten Members of the Kisumu County Executive Committee have been sworn-in today in a ceremony that Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o has witnessed.

In a ceremony presided over by the Deputy Registrar of the High Court T. Odero, the Ten County Executive Committee Members took the Oath of office to officially get into the public offices.

Those who have been sworn in include George Omondi Okong’o for the position of Finance, economic planning and Information and Communication Technology

Kenneth Onyango, former Majority Leader at the County Assembly of Kisumu who has been sworn for the Position of County Executive Committee Member in charge of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries as well as John Awiti who has been retained in the the Education, Vocational Training and Social Services.

Others who have been sworn -in include Beatrice Odongo to be in charge of Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth Affairs, Dr. Gregory Ganda, CEC Member for Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation and Merilene Yanzar Agwa to be in charge of Water docket.

Salmon Orimba has been sworn-in to handle Energy, Infrastructure and Public works while Farida Salim has been sworn-in to take charge of the Tourism, trade, Industry and Marketing Docket.

Kennedy Hongo has been sworn-in to take up the Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development while Judith Oluoch will now head the Public Service docket after being sworn-in alongside her colleagues.

Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o while addressing the CECs after their swearing-in urged them to work and deliver the services to the residents of Kisumu.

Nyong’o urged them to fully embrace the principle of collective responsibility while serving the residents of Kisumu County in the next five years.

The Kisumu County Executive Committee Members’ swearing-in comes barely a few days after the County Assembly of Kisumu last week on Thursday approved all the ten nominees before the Assembly went on long recess that will last till February 14, 2023.
