Keystone Sacco is the bicon of hope in Nyanza region

The Keystone DT Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited is the bicon of hope in terms of cooperative work in Nyanza region, an official of the Sacco has said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Keystone Sacco Allan Ochieng Kawa says their desire is to ensure that the Sacco remains a bicon of hope on issues of Cooperative works in Nyanza region and beyond.

Addressing the members of of the Sacco during its 46th Annual General Meeting in Kisumu today, the Chief Executive officer says he believes that the Keystone Sacco has what it takes to be that institution for savings in Nyanza region and beyond.

Kawa says the Sacco has assured residents of Nyanza region that it is possible to have well run saccos that will help in building the community in terms of savings.

“Our Sacco has convinced members that it is very safe to join saccos and people should know that a shilling at the cooperative should be as safe as a shilling at the bank,” Kawa says.

Kawa says he supports the agenda of having stable saccos across the country with prudent management of the funds for the members.

“We want our saccos to be the ones that can be able to help in developing our members across the country through low interests loans,” Kawa adds.

He further says Saccos should be able to offer facilities that are much cheaper than other institutions.

The Kisumu Teachers{Kite} Savings and Credit Cooperative Society re-branded last year in March to Keystone Sacco in a pomp and colorful ceremony held in Kisumu.

The Kisumu Teachers Sacco begun in the year 1977 with only a few members and since then it has grown and has marked 46 years of its existence.

According to current chairman of its Board of Director Esau Ogada, the Sacco now has 8,774 members in the year 2023.

Chief Guest during the Sacco's AGM Steven Otieno who is President's Advisor on Cooperatives calls for prudent management of Sacco funds across the country.
