Posta to commence door to door delivery of goods

The Postal Corporation of Kenya is set to begin a door to door delivery of goods and services to its clients across the country.

Chairperson of the Postal Corporation of Kenya Board Dr. Rose Nyamunga says this is part of the transformation that the parastatal is implementing so as to help in bringing services closer to the people of Kenya.

Nyamunga says this is also a way of ensuring that the parastatal cope up with the current digital technology.

She says it will entail clients being informed through a short Text Message about their goods to be delivered to their door steps without them visiting the Post offices to pick them, adding that some fees will be charge for such deliveries.

The Chairperson of the Postal Corporation of Kenya Board says the Government also intends to ensure that all Kenyans have an addressing system within the towns, cities and even in the villages across the country where all will have their Post Office Box.

Nyamunga says the addressing system will also help to locate clients and their goods will be delivered to their doors without coming for them at the Post Office.

“This will also apply to those who do their shopping online as this addressing system will also help in identifying them and deliver such goods to them to their doors without physically visiting the Post Offices,” Nyamunga says.

Nyamunga says the Corporation is ready to embrace the new technology in its work and will not be left behind as far as the issue of technology is concerned.

Nyamunga was speaking at ACK Orije Parish within Kadibo Sub-County during a Sunday church service where she and other Government officials accompanied Cabinet Secretary in charge of ICT and Digial Economy Eliud Owalo during the Sunday Church Service.
