Nyong’o unveils Performance report, urge County
employees to continue delivering services
Kisumu
Governor Prof Peter Anyang Nyong’o has urged the employees at his County
Government to continue to deliver on the services to the people.
Nyong’o
says most of the Departments within the County Government of Kisumu had set
their targets clearly and have implemented accordingly.
Addressing
the employees of various departments during the unveiling of the 2024/2025
Performance Report at Mamaa Grace Onyango Hall in Kisumu, Governor Nyong’o said their performances has since been evaluated
through a structured and competitive process.
“Today, we
present these results, not just as statistics, but as a reflection of the work
done, the lives impacted, and the duty we carry forward,” Nyong’o says.
Nyong’o says the
results demonstrate progress in critical sectors.
“In healthcare
for example, we continue to reduce patient waiting times, improve access to
essential medicines, and strengthen maternal care,” Nyong’o adds.
However, Governor
Nyong’o has observed that there are areas where performance fell short, adding
that Procurement challenges delays, coordination failures, and capacity
limitations have played their part.
“But let us not wholly hide behind systems. In some
instances, the deficit is not technical; it is attitudinal. Where there has
been complacency, where urgency has been replaced by comfort, and where
responsibility has been treated as optional, the results are predictably
inadequate,” Nyong’o further says.
