Invest in income generating activities, Boda Boda operators told

Boda Boda operators in Kisumu told to invest in income generating activities.

President of Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation James Mwamu says this is the surest way that they will ensure that they are stable financially.

Mwamu says it is high time the Boda boda riders engage in such activities which will eventually help in uplifting their standards of living in the society.

He says the riders should emulate their counterparts in Central Kenya region whom some of them have invested heavily in serious income generating activities like building rental houses among others.

Mwamu who is seeking to be elected as Kisumu East Constituency Member of Parliament during the next year's election says a serious conversation is needed around this, adding that the Boda Boda industry runs part of the Country's economy hence can’t be ignored at all cost.

Mwamu who was speaking at Gita Market in Kajulu within Kisumu East Constituency to youthful Boda boda operators and those who have never registered as voters to do so during the forthcoming enhanced voter registration exercise schedule next month of October.

He says those who dont have ID cards should also get them hence be registered as voted for the next year's polls.

He says by doing so and participating in the electoral process, they will exercise their democratic rights as great citizens of this country.
