Ksm Governor Promise
to complete Kibuye market after his re-election
Kisumu
Governor has promised to complete the second phase of construction of Kibuye
Market should he be re-elected for a second term during the next month’s polls.
Prof Anyang

of the first assignment will be the completion of the infamous Kibuye Market.
Addressing
the traders and electorates of Kisumu County at Kibuye Market today during his
tour of the projects the County Government of Kisumu has implemented during his
reign as the Governor of Kisumu for the last five years, Nyong’o said he will also modernize the
decades old market which houses many traders on Sunday which is its market day
and other days of the week.
At the same
time, the Kisumu Governor has received a wide round of applause from traders
within Jubilee Market after he directed that the millions of shs rent arrears
the traders owed the County Government of Kisumu be written off since the traders
suffered huge losses during the corona virus pandemic.
The Governor
at the same time has waived market rent/ fees arrears totaling to shs
13,220,034 owed to the County Government of Kisumu by small scale traders at
Jubilee Market.
“This is
purely meant to cushion the traders herein against the devastated effects of
Covid-19 and the current hard economic times,” Nyong’o says.
The Kisumu
Governor has also waived the land rates for the Kisumu Center Jua Kali Artisans
Association on plot number 517 totaling to shs 2,133,632.
