Ksm Jua Kali Artisans create Mobile APP to get more customers online

 

Members of the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans has created an online platform so as to help them reach more customers beyond Kisumu region.

 

The Somali Group which is affiliate  of the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans Association through Fablab Winam in partnership with GFA Consulting Group and GIZ Kenya has developed the ExclussApp which is a new online Marketplace designed to empower the members of the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans and entrepreneurs in Kisumu County and beyond.

 

Addressing the members of Group during the official launch of the App today at the Somali Ground in Kisumu, Fablab Winam Lead Developer for the ExclussApp Engineer Tairus Owi said the platform provides the artisans marketing services, enhances their competitiveness and expand their market reach ultimately contributing to their economic empowerment.

 

He says they have done sensitization to the Jua Kali Artisans on the usage of the new mobile application that will help them reach more customers using the new online platform.

 

He says one of the biggest needs of the Jua Kali Artisans has been the issue of marketing hence leading to the development of the application.

 

The Lead Developer of the Application says it is optimized and can work in any kind of a mobile phone.

 

“The most important feature of this application is that it is very easy to use and post their actual  products they have made,” he says.

 

He says the platform show case the actual products the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans have made, adding that such are the products which will be delivered to their customers.

 

George Ng’uono, the Chair of the Somali Group says they fully welcome the development of the application for the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans.

 

He says the Members of the Kisumu Jua kali Artisans products will now be exposed online for their customers to purchase.
