Jubilee aspirants ask to deliver votes for the party.

A NUMBER of Jubilee Party aspirants who have been issued with nomination certificates for the various seats in Kisumu County have been urged to help in campaigning and deliver votes for the party.

Kisumu County Jubilee Party Chairman Zuberi Odhiambo Liete says the aspirants are now tasked to campaign and help the party get votes in the region during the August 8 General Elections.

Speaking in Kisumu during the presentation of the party’s nomination certificates to various aspirants to contest for various posts during the upcoming polls, Liete said the aspirants should mount vigorous campaigns which will make the party to get more votes.

He challenges the aspirants to use even their resources to campaign for the party in the upcoming elections before its headquarters release the resources to the grass root level.

Liete at the same time urges the Party’s Secretariat to decentralize its resources to the grass root level for the campaigns ahead of the forthcoming polls.

He says there has been a number of logistical issues which the Party’s headquarters should sort out at the grass root level.

“I want to urge our party’s headquarter led by Raphael Tuju to consider decentralizing resources for campaigns at the grass root level so as to help ease our work here,” he says.

A total of 35 aspirants for various seats within Kisumu County have been awarded with the Jubilee party’s nomination certificates.

Among them is Atieno Otieno who has been issued with the party’s nomination certificate to vie as a Governor in Kisumu County during the August 8 polls.

She will battle it out with Kisumu’s current Governor Jack Ranguma who is defending his seat as an independent candidate, Prof Peter Anyang’Nyong’o of ODM party and Peter Charles Omollo of the Amani National Congress {ANC}.

Others who have been awarded the Jubilee Party’s nomination ticket in Kisumu County include Winstone Ochoro Ayoki who will vie as a senator. He will square it out with ODM’s Fred Outa and James Ocholla Ogoda vying as an independent candidate.

A host of aspirants have also been issued with the jubilee Party’s nomination certificates to vie as Members of the County Assembly in Kisumu County.

Atieno Otieno says the Luo community have been for a long time sidelined by the successive regimes hence it is high time for the community to fully be in the next Jubilee Government.

She says politics of tolerance should be embraced and any form of political violence should be shunned at all cost.
