Need to have serious ambulatory system in Kisumu, Nyong’o says.

There is need to have a serious ambulatory system and disaster management services in Kisumu County, Kisumu Governor has said.

Nyong’o says the well established ambulatory system will ensure ambulatory services are improved and the public will greatly benefit from it.

Addressing the press in his office when officials of the Kenya Red Cross paid him a courtesy call led by its Governor Mohamud Mohamed, Nyong’o said there is no need for every health facility to have its own ambulance but need to established a serious ambulatory system.

Nyong’o says that his County Government and the Kenya Red Cross Society will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding so as to ensure that proper ambulatory system is put in place in Kisumu County.

“We are soon signing MoU with the Kenya Red Cross so as to help in establishing a serious ambulatory system which will greatly help in benefiting the public,” Nyong’o says.

On the issue of Disaster management, Governor Nyong’o says the county government place to establish three new fire stations within various different parts of the county.

He says this will be a way of structuring and strengthening disaster management within the county of Kisumu.

He says the current fire station situated in Kisumu city cannot offer services effectively to far flung areas within Kisumu County hence the need for establishment of new fire stations.

Nyong’o says one new fire station will be established in Maseno area so as to service Kisumu West and Seme Sub-Counties.

He adds that another one will be established in Koru area so as to serve Muhoroni and Nyando Sub-Counties.

Nyong’o further says a new fire station will be established in Nyabondo area so as to serve the larger Nyakach sub-county.

Kenya Red cross Governor Mohamud Mohamed has welcomed the partnership between the county Government of Kisumu and the KRC on the issue of ambulatory system.

He says already the society has put two new state of the art ambulances within Kisumu County which help emergency services within the county.
