Nyong’o nominates his
ten-member cabinet, drops all Ranguma’s cabinet.
KISUMU Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o has nominated a
ten-member cabinet and has dropped all those County Executive Committee Members
who served in the previous regime.
The Governor has nominated ten new County Executive Members
who will first be approved by the County Assembly of Kisumu before they take
those positions.
Addressing the press at his office on Wednesday, Nyong’o
said he will forward the names of the CECs nominees to the Assembly for
approval.
The County Assembly of Kisumu is currently on recess but the
Governor has said he will talked to its Speaker Onyango Oloo to re-convene it
so as to vet and approve the nominees.
Nyong’o has nominated John Obiero Ogone to head the
Department of Education, Information and Communication Technology and Human
Resource Development.
He has also nominated Alice Moraa to be the County Executive
Committee Member in charge of the department of Business, Energy and Industry.
Nerry Achar has been nominated to head the department of
Physical planning, lands, housing and urban development while Dr. Rosemary
Obara will head the Health and Sanitation if vetted and approved by the county
Assembly.
The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, food and fisheries
will be headed by Gilchrist F. Owuor Okuom while Salmon Orimba will head the
environment, water, irrigation and natural resources.
The Public works, Roads and Transport docket will be head by
Thomas Ondijo Owiti while Richard Ogendo will head the department of Economic
Planning and development.
Achie Ojany Alai will head the department of Tourism,
Culture, Arts and sports while Robert Ouko Onyango has been nominated to head
the plum finance Docket.
