6 Officials from Siaya charged in Kisumu Court with corruption.

SIX People including a former County Secretary of Siaya County Government have been charged before a Kisumu Court with corruption.

The six are Kepha  Marube, the former County Secretary of Siaya County Government who is now working as Deputy County Secretary in Muranga and Amos Onyango who is Chief Officer in charge of Governance.

Other accused persons include Collins Owino serving as the internal Auditor, Head of Procurement Zakayo Ojuok, Tobias Oloo who is the Director of Supply and Chain and Engineer Tom Mboya.

They have been charged before Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo with seven counts.

One of the counts states that they irregularly awarded tender for the purchase of Supply and installation of sports facilities at shs 13.5 million.

Other offences which the six have been charged with are relating to malpractices in procurement and forgery.

The case will be mentioned on May 2 this year while hearing will commence on June 8 this year.
