We need you to come back to us in Kisumu, group tells DP Ruto.

A Group of businessmen and youth in Kisumu have appealed to the Deputy President William Ruto to consider coming back to them and recognize the role they played for him to visit Kisumu in April 2011.

They claim that they played a greater role in ensuring that the now Deputy President came and visited Kisumu where he addressed a gathering outside Moi Stadium during an evening in April 2011.

Addressing the press in Kisumu today, the businessmen and the youth led by Collins Otieno and Joseph Obuya says when DP Ruto started campaigning for Jubilee before the March 4, 2013 General Elections they were his point men in Kisumu and things were moving on well.

They claim that prior to the Kisumu meeting that day, those who were against the DP did not want such a meeting to take place in Kisumu and chased them from booking some venue, adding that they ended up booking next to Moi Stadium for the meeting.

They claim that after the 2013 polls, they have never heard anything from the Deputy President and want to seek appointment with him.

“We booked two venues for the Rally for Dr. William Ruto to come and address members of the public in Kisumu and we did not succeed. We only succeeded after booking outside Moi stadium where Ruto later come and addressed members of the public,” they say.

They say with the spirit of handshake, they have tried to seek for reconciliation with those in Nasa but are still being branded as “Ruto’s men", adding that the spirit of handshake should be all inclusive and not for a few individuals.
