Governor Nyong’o flown to Nairobi for further treatment.

KISUMU Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o was this morning flown to Nairobi for further treatment.

Governor Nyong’o was flown from Kisumu International Airport around 11:30 am to Nairobi where he sought further treatment.

The Governor who left the Aga Khan Hospital walking into a waiting ambulance in Kisumu did not utter a word to members of the press who were present and instead got straight away into the ambulance from the Kenya Red Cross Society that drove him to Kisumu International Airport where he boarded a plane to Nairobi.

Addressing the media at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu today, Aga Khan Hospital Medical Director Dr. Sam Oula said the Kisumu Governor was admitted at the facility yesterday and he responded well to treatment.

Dr. Oula says the Governor was admitted at the facility after he complained of dizziness at around 11:30 am.

He says the governor was handled by the emergency medical team at the facility when he arrived yesterday where he was admitted over night for further observations.

“The Governor has done well since he was admitted here yesterday and he has now been transferred to Aga Khan University Hospital for further assessment, evaluation and treatment,” Dr. Oula says.

He has described the Governor’s condition as stable, adding that the Governor can communicate and walk.

Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Mathews Owili, Kisumu First Lady Dorothy Nyong'o and Director of Protocol Bob Madanje were at Aga Khan Hospital when the Governor was taken to the Airport to be flown to Nairobi.

Kericho Governor Prof. Paul Chepkwony who has been at a function within Kisumu today has wished his Kisumu Counterpart a quick recovery.

Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o was admitted at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu yesterday after he left a function he was attending together with Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President Dr. William Ruto half way at Uzima University when he according the his Press Unit Director Aloyce Ager unfortunately encountered some discomfort and excused himself to see a doctor.

“He was with his doctor for a brief check-up and was released to go and rest at home. He is in sound state of health and going about his business,” says Aloyce Ager, the Director at Kisumu Governor’s Press Unit.

Ager later said the Governor was diagnosed with a sudden drop of blood pressure, adding that his doctor has prescribed a brief bed rest as the pressure is stabilized.
