United, Homa Bay’s NCEOD triumph as Nyanza regional Finals Chapa Dimba games ends.
THE Nyanza Regional Finals Chamba Dimba na safaricom games has finally come to an end in
Kisumu today after two days tournament at Moi Stadium with Manyatta United Boys
in Kisumu and NCEOD from Homa Bay County triumphs as the champions at the
finals.
During the finals for the girls’ category, NCEOD Queens from
Homa Bay County managed to score three goals against their opponent Manyatta
United from Kisumu County who scored zero goals.
Ogado Nowe managed to score the first goal for the NCEOD
Queens at the 32nd minute while Ogindi Susan managed to score the
second goal at the 51st minute.
Achieng Asher finally score the third Goal for her team at
the 86th minute placing the team as the winner.
The winning team NCEOD Queens from Homa Bay County has been
awarded a trophy and shs 200,000 while the runners-up Manyatta United has
received a trophy and shs 100,000 during the event.
Manyatta United Boys team begun their match with Nyamira
springs on a high note where it got its first goal at the 13th
minute.
They finally thrashed the Nyamira Springs five goals against
nil thereby placing them as the Nyanza Regional champions this year’s Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Games.
The team has too been awarded a trophy and shs 200,000 while
the Nyamira Springs who have been the runners-up has been awarded shs 100,000
and a trophy.
Each player in the two winning champions for both girls and
boys categories have been given smart phone worth sh 10,000 with safaricom
airtime worth 2,000 each.
Players in the two runners-up teams of Nyamira Springs and
Manyatta United Girls got smart phones worth shs 6,000 and airtime worth shs
1,000 each.
Immediately after being awarded the trophy and cash awards,
Manyatta United boys jumped into the field while dancing with a lot of joy
celebrating their win together with their coach Antony Obala Mzee.
After the today’s finals in Kisumu, the competition moves to
Kitui County for the Eastern Region finals on March 9 and 10 this year.
The competition will thereafter move to Rift Valley, Coast,
Central, North Eastern and Nairobi region as the race for La Liga heats up.
The competition aims at scouting for youth talent,
developing grass root football, and ultimately propel the gifted players to the
national team.
This is the second season of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom games and this year an all-star team will be selected to
attend a training camp in Spain during which they will play against local youth
sides.
