Buyu appeals to women and youth to apply for National Government funds.

Women and Youth within Kisumu County have been urged to apply and get funding that the National Government provide.

Kisumu County Women Representative Rosa Buyu says women and Youth in Organized groups should take advantage of the existing Women enterprise Development funds and the Youth Enterprise Development funds which the government gives inform of revolving loans.

Speaking in Kisumu during the disbursement of the Youth Enterprise Development funds and Women Enterprise development funds where over shillings 4.5 million in Kisumu County today, Buyu said these funds can help to uplift the standard of living when used prudently.

She said there are a lot of funding from the National Government that also include Uwezo funds among those that have been mentioned.

She has further appealed to the National Government to consider increasing the allocation to such funds so that it can benefit many people within the various parts of the country.

She says the disbursed shs 4.5Million in Kisumu County is not enough, adding such allocation should be increased because a number of people should benefit.

Public Service, Gender and Youth Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Rachael Shebesh says those who are in charge of such funding as Uwezo, Women and Youth Enterprise Funds should ensure that they enlighten the public about such funding within the grass root level.

She says such funding are meant for development among women and youth in organized groups, adding that they should utilize the funds prudently.
